Meet the Team

Pastor

Pastor Steve Saatkamp became the pastor of Ascension in November 2022. He and his wife, Joanna, have been blessed with three wonderful daughters. God has given them a wide variety of church and mission experiences throughout their ministry and a passion for outreach and cross-cultural experiences. They love getting to know people and their life stories. He is particularly passionate about connecting with people who have been burned by the church in the past, who haven’t been connected in a long time, or have no knowledge of Christianity.

Communications Director

Lindsey Koffman has been a member of Ascension for over 8 years, and began her role in September of 2023. She has served in multiple capacities including directing the Mornings with Mommy program for a number of years, and she still actively serves on the planning committee and teaching Sunday School. Lindsey, her husband Joe, and their three children have lived everywhere from Japan to California to North Carolina and enjoy traveling very much.

In her free time, she enjoys sewing, watercolor painting, baking and homeschooling her girls.

Worship Coordinator

Audrey Neumann somewhat unexpectedly assumed the role of Worship Coordinator in 2019. She has been a part of the Ascension family on and off (due to military relocations) for over 30 years before settling in the Jacksonville area in 2018. Audrey brings a love for music that imparts the Gospel message to this position and a goal of selecting songs that people can carry with them throughout the week in their hearts and minds. She and her husband, David, have three grown children and 2 wonderful granddaughters.

Sunday School Superintendent

Mary Kollmeyer has been responsible for our Sunday School program for many years now. As a retired educator, she brings years of teaching experience to this role. She manages the curriculum and organizes the teaching rotation for our many dedicated Sunday School teachers. Mary and her husband Lewis are long-time residents of the area, which has given her the opportunity to watch the children of Ascension grow into adulthood, and in some cases have children of their own who now attend Sunday School.

Ascension is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).
